The cycle

It’s a loop, not a countdown.

Most phone plans end with you owning an ageing handset. This one comes back around: every 24 months you step onto the device that suits you, and the things that protect you start over with it.

Repeats every24months, for as long as you like
  1. 01

Step onto a device that suits you

No deposit, no down payment. Choose from new or certified pre-owned stock at the monthly fee that fits.

  2. 02

    Use it, fully covered

Damage, liquid, screen, loss and theft in Qatar, all insured up to the retail price. Two claims at QAR 99 each, arranged and managed by Revio.

    Clause 6.1
  3. 03

    Change device whenever you want

After month 6, swap up, down, or to a different colour or storage for QAR 299. Your cover resets with the new contract.

    Clause 5.1
  4. 04

At month 24, upgrade for nothing

Hand back your device and pick your next one at no charge. Move up a generation, go straight to the latest flagship, or take a newer model at a lower monthly rate. The loop starts again.

    Clause 7.1(b)

What starts fresh every time you upgrade

An upgrade isn’t just a newer phone. Everything that protects you resets with the new contract.

How it works

What happens, and when.

From signing to owning. Every point below is taken from your contract, and the clause is cited so you can check it.

Day 0

Choose your device and sign

Pick your model, storage and colour, then sign a 24-month subscription agreement with Revio. You pay nothing upfront. Revio owns the device throughout the subscription.

This is a subscription, not an instalment plan.

Clause 1.4

Day 0

Set up your monthly payment

Your fee is collected automatically on the same date each month, your Billing Date, through a secure payment gateway. You set it up once at signing and get a confirmation after every successful charge.

Keep your account funded on your Billing Date.

Clause 1.2

Day 1

Get your device, fully insured

You receive the phone ready to use, and insurance starts the same day. Accidental damage, liquid damage, screen damage, loss and theft in Qatar are all covered up to the device’s retail price. You don’t arrange anything separately.

Two claims included at QAR 99 each.

Clause 6.1Clause 6.2

Months 1–6

The 6-month lock-in

For the first six months you can’t change device or transfer the contract, and you’re committed to six months of fees. You can still buy the phone during this period if you want to.

Buying the device is always available, even in lock-in.

Clause 3.2Clause 3.4

After month 6

Change device whenever you want

Move up, move down, or swap colour or storage for a QAR 299 device change fee. A change starts a fresh 24-month term with a new 6-month lock-in, and your monthly fee updates to the new device. Subject to stock.

Payments made on this device don’t carry across to the new one.

Clause 5.2Clause 5.4

Month 24

Choose one of three options

Revio contacts you before your term ends. Hand the phone back and walk away, move to a newer model at no charge, or keep the device by paying your buyout. Two of the three cost nothing.

Contact Revio at least 7 days before month 24 ends.

Clause 7.1Clause 7.2

After month 24

Do nothing and nothing changes

Your subscription doesn’t expire and the phone doesn’t have to come back. You simply stay on the plan month to month at the same rate, with no new lock-in, until you decide to return, upgrade or buy. Insurance continues throughout.

Your buyout keeps falling while you stay.

Clause 7.3Clause 7.4

At the end of your term

Three ways to finish. Most people upgrade.

At month 24 the choice is yours, and you can take it whenever you are ready. Two of the three cost nothing at all.

What most people do

No fee

Upgrade

Move to a newer model

Return your current device and pick your next one. Jump to the latest flagship, or move up a generation at a similar monthly fee. No transfer fee, no device change fee, and your two insurance claims reset.

Clause 7.1(b)

No fee

Renew

Keep this phone for less

Like the device you have? Sign a new term on the same model at a lower monthly rate, with insurance cover starting fresh.

Clause 7.1(b)

No fee

Return

Give the phone back

Hand the device in at a Revio service point in good working order. Your subscription ends and there is nothing further to pay.

Clause 7.1(a)

Or buy the device outright

You can also keep the phone permanently by paying your remaining device value plus the QAR 599 ownership transfer fee. It’s always available, and it’s set out in full below so you can weigh it properly.

Compare staying and buying

Stay or buy

Buying is always an option. Here’s the honest comparison.

Pick your device and move the slider to any month. You’ll see exactly what buying costs at that point, and what you’d be giving up by leaving the plan.

If you stay

QAR 104/mo

  • Nothing to pay to move to a newer model at end of term
  • Insurance stays active, and your two claims reset each new term
  • Loss, theft, liquid and screen damage covered throughout
  • Revio carries the depreciation, not you
  • Change device any time after month 6 if you want to
Clause 6.1 · 7.1(b)

If you buy at this point

QAR 2,302

  • Paid off
  • Device value left
  • Transfer fee
  • Every payment has reduced the device value, and it never goes below zero
  • The QAR 599 transfer fee is fixed and separate from that value
  • Insurance ends on the day ownership transfers
  • You own a phone that’s 24 months old and keeps depreciating
  • Your next phone starts from full price again
Clause 4.2 · 4.5 · 6.4

No pressure either way. If you do nothing at month 24, you simply stay on the plan month to month at the same rate, insured, with no new lock-in. You can return, upgrade or buy whenever you’re ready.Clause 7.3

Fees

Four fees exist. That’s all of them.

Nothing beyond your monthly payment and the four fees below is charged under your contract, and each applies only in the situation described. There is no deposit, no upfront cost, and no charge at all for returning or upgrading at the end of your term.

QAR 599

Ownership transfer fee

Once only, if you choose to keep the device permanently. Not charged if you return or upgrade.

Clause 4.4

FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

What exactly is Revio Upgrade?

A 24-month device subscription offered directly by Revio. Instead of paying the full price of a phone upfront, you pay a fixed monthly fee and get the device on day one, fully insured. It’s a subscription, not an instalment plan. Revio owns the device while you’re subscribed. At the end you can return it, upgrade at no charge, or keep it by paying your buyout.

Do I have to move to a more expensive phone each time?

No. Upgrading means moving to a device that suits you, not climbing a price ladder. If you’re on an iPhone 15 Pro, your next term could be a 17 Pro at a similar monthly fee rather than the newest flagship at a higher one. You can also move down a tier, or stay on the same model at a lower rate.

Revio stocks new and certified pre-owned devices, so there’s usually a step up available at close to what you’re already paying.

Where does the QAR 599 come from?

It’s the ownership transfer fee, and it applies only if you decide to keep the phone permanently. Because this is a lease, the device normally returns to Revio at the end of the term to be refurbished and resold. The QAR 599 covers transferring ownership to you and taking the device permanently out of that cycle.

If you return the device or upgrade to a newer model instead, you don’t pay it at all.

Do my monthly payments count toward buying the phone?

Yes, in full. Your buyout has two parts: the remaining device value, and the QAR 599 transfer fee. Every monthly payment reduces the device value, so your buyout drops each month you stay subscribed. The device value can go all the way down to zero. The QAR 599 is fixed and separate, so it isn’t reduced by payments.

What if I pay more in total than the phone is worth?

The remaining device value stops at zero and never goes negative, so once your payments have covered the retail price, your buyout is just the QAR 599. No refund, credit or carry-over arises from paying beyond that point. Your monthly fee pays for use of the device and the insurance that comes with it, month by month.

Does the phone become mine automatically if I stay long enough?

No. Ownership never transfers on its own, whatever the total you’ve paid. You take ownership by telling Revio you want to buy and paying the buyout amount. Until then the device belongs to Revio and stays insured.

What’s the difference between a subscription and an instalment plan?

With an instalment plan you’re paying off a device you’ll own at the end, like a loan. With a subscription you’re paying for ongoing use of a device Revio owns, with insurance and service included. That’s what keeps the monthly fee lower and lets you change device or hand it back. Buying is an option you can take, not something you’re locked into.

What does the insurance actually cover?

Accidental damage, liquid damage, screen damage, and loss and theft occurring within Qatar, up to the device’s original retail price, for the whole subscription period. Revio arranges and manages the cover, so you don’t source a separate policy.

You get up to two claims at QAR 99 each, handled through the Revio Service Centre. Loss and theft claims need a police report filed within 48 hours plus proof of purchase, and the device must be registered under your name and QID.

What is the 6-month lock-in?

The minimum commitment at the start of your subscription. During the first six months you can’t change device or transfer the contract, and you’re liable for six months of fees. After that, device changes open up. Buying the phone is available throughout, including during lock-in.

Can I cancel before 24 months?

Yes. Return the device in acceptable condition, pay the QAR 599 early termination fee, and settle any unpaid part of your six-month minimum. If you’d rather keep the phone, pay your buyout instead and the early termination fee doesn’t apply, because the transfer fee is already part of the buyout. You’re never charged both.

What happens if I do nothing at month 24?

Nothing changes and nothing is required of you. Your subscription doesn’t expire, the phone doesn’t have to come back, and you stay on the plan month to month at the same rate with no new lock-in. Insurance continues, your buyout keeps falling, and you can return, upgrade or buy whenever you like.

What condition does the device need to be in when I return it?

No cracks on the screen or back, unlocked from carrier and iCloud or Google, charging correctly with battery health of at least 80%, all buttons, cameras, Face ID or Touch ID and the charging port working, and reset to factory settings.

If a returned device doesn’t meet these, Revio tells you the assessed repair cost before anything is charged, and you can choose to buy the device instead.

Can I repair the phone myself or at any shop?

No. Revio owns the device, so all repairs go through authorised service centres in Qatar. Independent repairs without prior written approval breach your contract and affect your ability to return the device. Contact Revio Customer Service first.

Can I sell the device or give it to someone else?

Not while you’re subscribed. The device may not be sold, transferred or modified without Revio’s prior written consent, and the agreement is between you and Revio specifically. Once you’ve completed a buyout and own the phone, it’s yours to do with as you like.

Do I need a telecom subscription?

No. Revio Upgrade is a direct arrangement between you and Revio, with no telecom bundle needed. You’ll need a valid bank account linked for monthly billing.

Is there a deposit or upfront payment?

No deposit and no down payment. You receive the device on the day you sign, and your first monthly payment is taken on your Billing Date.

What if the model I want isn’t available?

Availability depends on current stock, and Revio doesn’t guarantee any specific model, colour or storage configuration at sign-up or at a device change. Contact Revio Customer Service or check the catalogue for what’s in stock now.

Ready to upgrade?

Visit a Revio service point or get in touch, and we’ll find you a device and start your subscription.
